Looking for a unique and truly spectacular way to learn all there is to know about carnivorous plants, their care needs, and how to keep them alive and THRIVING in your own home or office? Trendy Gardener is offering a class on how to do just that. Each class will be an hour and a half long starting off with the several different species available, where they come from, how they differ from 'normal' plants. We have spent a long time tracking down these fascinating plants, most of which never offered in the Des Moines area before. We want to make sure that you are not only able to build your own terrarium but we also want to ensure the longevity of them once you leave our shop with your own stunning carnivorous terrarium!
We will be offering this class in our showroom in West Des Moines and encourage anyone, of any knowledge base, to join us! No prior knowledge of these plants--no problem! We will go in depth talking about their specific care needs
There are different tiered packages available depending on how many carnivorous plants you wish to build your terrarium with. Each terrarium will include the proper growing medium, specialty plant food needed for your plants, care guides, and you will be the first to have access to these plants prior to them being offered in the store to the general public!
Tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be offered on a walk-in basis. Limited ticket quantities are on sale now!
Terrariums available:
option one - Enclosed cloche style terrarium with an easily removable dome top. Ideal for one plant to have on display.
option two - Medium enclosed cloche style terrarium with an easily removable dome top that will allow for 2-3 plants.
option three - Geometric with an open top that allows for an unobstructed view of your carnivorous plants. Ideal for a small to medium groupings of carnivorous plants and their companion plants.
option four - large enclosed ornate terrarium that allows for a very elegant display of your carnivorous plants and their companion plants.

options one - includes 1 carnivorous plant
option two - includes 2-3 carnivorous plants and companion plants
option three - includes 4-5 carnivorous plants and companion plants
option four - this is our more advanced package for experienced carnivorous plant enthusiasts that allows for you to build your own carnivorous bog terrarium. We will allow an unlimited*** amount of plants as long as they are supplied with an appropriately sized terrarium. This is the only option that allows for you to bring in your own terrarium, please have it approved prior to the start of class to ensure it will qualify for the unlimited plant package.
