This living masterpiece served as a stunning focal point, complementing the event’s upscale atmosphere.
In addition to the living wall, we provided short-term plant rentals, elegant indoor planters, and chic tabletop plant decor to enhance the venue’s aesthetic. Our curated plant arrangements and gifts for award winners added a thoughtful touch to the evening. Working closely with event organizers, we ensured seamless installation, removal, and execution, creating a vibrant and sophisticated ambiance that left a lasting impression.
Transforming Office Spaces with Greenery
A Customized Office Plantscaping Redesign for Iowa Credit Union League
Trendy Gardener recently undertook a unique project for the Iowa Credit Union League, transforming their space with customized office plantscaping. Our team carefully sourced new planter pots for a stunning redesign, including the repotting of a 40+ year old Ficus. The process included a nutrient bath and de-stressing treatment to prevent transplant shock, alongside preventative pest control to ensure long-term health.
In addition, we installed a lush tropical arrangement at the lobby entrance, creating an inviting atmosphere for employees and visitors. To top it off, we designed elegant plant gifts for the Chief of Staff’s retirement party, adding a personal and thoughtful touch to the celebration.
Iowa's Largest Residential Moss Wall Installation
A Natural Masterpiece: Preserved Moss Wall at the 2024 Home Show Expo
At House #4 of the Home Builders Association of Greater Des Moines 2024 Home Show Expo, Trendy Gardener proudly unveiled Iowa’s largest residential preserved moss wall. Featured in the custom 3,909 sq. ft. home built by Showtime Homes and listed at $2.9M, this incredible installation is a testament to the integration of nature and luxury. Spanning nearly 100 sq. ft., the moss wall brings a sense of calm and natural beauty to the modern home, creating a one-of-a-kind focal point.
Crafted from seven different types of preserved moss, including sheet moss, pillow moss, reindeer moss (lichen), mood moss, pole moss, long moss, and hair moss, the wall is enhanced with preserved ferns and other freshly preserved greenery. Each element was carefully selected for its texture and depth, contributing to a rich, vibrant display that exudes both elegance and tranquility.
The intricate installation process took over 18 hours to complete, requiring precision and attention to detail to ensure the moss and greenery were perfectly placed. The preserved moss, which is maintenance-free aside from yearly dusting, offers both beauty and functionality. The way the moss was harvested and preserved allows it to continue to filter air and regulate humidity levels, benefiting the indoor environment for decades to come.
This living wall is not only a stunning visual element but also a sustainable feature, offering long-lasting environmental benefits without the need for ongoing care. As a highlight of the Home Show Expo, it showcases the potential for biophilic design to elevate residential spaces, making them healthier and more connected to nature.
