Lighting is infrastructure

Every plant on the wall must remain reachable for pruning, cleaning, treatment, irrigation inspection, and replacement. The wall, surrounding millwork, furnishings, and floor protection must allow that work to occur without dismantling the interior.
When a preserved wall is the better solution
A preserved moss wall may be stronger when the site lacks plant lighting, water access, maintenance clearance, or tolerance for ongoing horticultural service. The right choice depends on the design objective and the operating reality—not on which system sounds more impressive.
